A Study of Physical Characteristics of Moxibustion



Abstract
In order to observe Physical Characteristics of Kang Hwa Moxa Powder and manufactured-mox a power in process on combustioning, chemical effective component start in flowing out that the heat resolution temperature, heat enthalpy and heat stability measured by D.S.C. & T.G.A.
A structural characteristics of moxa powder observed and measured by FTIR-Specrometer. The results were as follaws.
1. A heat enthalpy measured : Kang Hwa moxa powder was checked onset temperature 240.93¡É, peak temperater 259.90¡É, conclusion temperature 284.10¡É. enthalpy 16.30J/g. Bong Re moxa powder was checked onset temperature 228.01¡É, peak tempearter 250.74¡É conclusion temperater 271.34¡É enthalpy 22.62 J/g. Woo sung moxa powder was checked onset temperature 209.09¡É peak temperature 236.69¡É conclusion temperature 269.89¡É enthalpy 30.10J/g. Kang Hwa Chun Soo moxa powder was checked onset temperature 284.81¡É, enthalpy 20.09J/g. Yellow Emperor moxa powder was checked onset temperature 248.34¡É, peak temperature 262.66¡É, conclusion temperature 283.70¡É enthalpy 9.90J/g. Korea Jangseng moxa powder was checked onset temperature 238.17¡É peak temperature 251.52¡É conclusoin temperature 276.00¡É enthalpy 5.66J/g.
2. A heat resolution temperature and heat stability were rapidly curved at 284¡É in Kang Hwa Chun Soo moxa powder and Korea Jangseng moxa powder.
3. According, to a structural characteristic measurement of moxa powder, it was confirmed that there is carbonyl group besides cellulose.
